Raining Through Time

The windows gather steam,
as two opposite temperatures meet,
separated by only glass.
The steam turns into small drops of water
which sometimes stay put in one spot on the window
but sometimes also roll down the glass
leaving a small shaky trail.
The drops right now are almost all lined up,
or as close as they'll ever get to a straight line.
They have all paused as if holding their breath.
From inside and looking out it seems as if time has frozen in rain.
Except people still walk by and clouds move through the sky,
time can be very deceiving.

End of Christmas

Look at the lights,
sparkling bright.
Christmas has passed leaving warm fuzzy feelings inside
and newly repaired friendships.
Next is New Year, what will 2012 bring?

Gingerbread Cookies

Gingerbread men, they really are so strong.
Those gingerbread men they walk around in the kitchen,
and survive the oven.
They have smiley or sad faces
and normally buttons of any color they want.
Those ginger bread men they are baked and decorated,
then eaten, yum.
These are some gingerbread cookies I made to give as gifts for Christmas!

Holiday's

The lights are all up.
The ornaments too.
There's even a pine and cinnamon scent.
The mistletoe is hung.
The gifts are all wrapped under the tree
waiting for eager openings.
Christmas time is near and Hanukkah too
but I'm sorry to say I do not know much about Judaism.
Still there is a nice wintery cheer that hangs in the air
and tells us there's a great new year coming.

Writing

Is writing addictive like coffee or drugs?
It can burrow deep in your soul and help release the most complex emotions.
If it is addictive then not in a bad way surely.
Writing expresses or tells stories.
It is very powerful;
language can be annoying at times but everyday life would be hard without it.
So then, could writing be almost a necessity?

Lights

How can lights be so bright?
Is the sun their idol for the amount of
light they want?
They must get bored just sitting there on the
ceiling or on a nightstand or the floor.

The Unknown Mountain

There's that unknown mountain that lays so far away.
My eyes squint to see the small hills to the side.
This unknown mountain holds so much beauty
which is summed up to mostly,
mountain shadows in front of a light pink sky.
At a closer view there are huge
trees, and rivers, and maybe some bears.
This beauty repeats all over the earth
and cannot be created easily.
Let's protect it.

December

Christmas is such a happy time.
We are all brought together as we smell the
pies and cookies and pasta.
We eat the yummy food and socialize.
We are like a family although
separated by blood.

Normal

There is no such thing as national normality.
Normality is simply what one is accustomed to.
