Raining Through Time

The windows gather steam,
as two opposite temperatures meet,
separated by only glass.
The steam turns into small drops of water
which sometimes stay put in one spot on the window
but sometimes also roll down the glass
leaving a small shaky trail.
The drops right now are almost all lined up,
or as close as they'll ever get to a straight line.
They have all paused as if holding their breath.
From inside and looking out it seems as if time has frozen in rain.
Except people still walk by and clouds move through the sky,
time can be very deceiving.
